No Illusions
for Clarinet, Trombone, Cello and Piano
(2001)

This is the piece of active, sometimes aggressive character, with leading virtuoso role of the piano - looks like a fragment of piano concerto. Music fluctuates between dynamic destroying force and mystic prostration. Asseveration, doubt, indifference, pathos, hardness, delicacy, interaction of voices, their mutual negation - all this replaces one another in kaleidoscopic movement that abruptly stops, as if hints at possible continuation of the "movie" and at the same time put an end to this madness.

The piece has been written for the Ensemble Wiener Collage.
